Remodeling, building homes in the Fargo/Moorhead area for 25 years
As a farmer facing a dismal outlook for his livelihood in the early 1980’s, Doug Mjolsness decided to take his interest in carpentry one step further and begin a remodeling company. Encouraged by the successful completion of his own home, Mjolsness supplemented his farming operation with remodeling jobs as Doug Mjolsness Construction in 1983. By 1984 he was a contractor full-time. “I’ve always liked to work with my hands, and my background working in a cabinet shop and building my own house made this a perfect fit,” Mjolsness says.In 1996, the company’s focus shifted into new home construction. It now builds 8-12 homes per year.Mjolsness thinks his success is because he truly enjoys working with his customers and experiences their satisfaction with a project upon completion. “As the owner I take personal pride in the quality of workmanship in all aspects from start to finish,” he says. “It is a priority to keep control of the quality of work by checking on each project daily.”
We currently concentrate our business in the Fargo/ Moorhead and surrounding areas.
Our homes range from $300,000 to $600,000 and are custom built.
